However, eating habits can also affect the color of our teeth. Some foods, like wine, coffee, tea, soda, carrots, and oranges can make the teeth become yellow and dark. Acid contained in the sour fruit will trigger the appearance of yellow color of teeth.

The Australian Dental Association, stating that caffeine can interfere with saliva production process that resulted in the mouth becomes dry and it can lead to damage to the teeth.

We can replace it by starting to eat apples, celery and carrots, because they are naturally stain repellent, said Drs. Roizen and Oz. But specifically for the carrots, it's good we do not consume to excess because it affects the color of teeth.

Green vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and lettuce can also be a powerful protective stain teeth. Also, gargle with water every time we eat food that can contaminate our teeth, such as wine, tea, blueberries, soy sauce, tomato sauce and cranberry juice.

Not only coffee, soft drinks can also damage our teeth even though labeled diet. "All soft drinks that contain caffeine, like colas and energy drinks provide the same effect.", Said Don Wilson, president of The Association's Oral Health Education Committe.
